Building Better, Stronger, Faster Athletes...   One Day At A Time!

Testimonials
Parents of Brandon Sanders

"Some of us may go our entire lives not knowing what our purpose is.  I thank God for revealing Coach Isaac's purpose.  Coach Isaac is not only on one of the top trainers; He's even a better man.  A person that will do what is in the best interest of the athlete.  His reward is seeing his athletes cross the finish line. Knowing that they do their best.
Since Brandon started training with JumpStart, it's been an amazing ride of a life time. WOW!!!!!.  I don't know where to start... At the 2007 Youth Game tryouts, I was introduced to Coach Isaac. He and his team started working with Brandon right away.  My wife and I started seeing improvements in his mechanics.  In two weeks, Brandon went from 11.71s in the 100m at the USATF Regionals to achieve a personal record of 11.52 in the 100m event at the 2007 USATF Nationals.  He finished 6th overall with a time of 11.56 in the finals and went onto the Regionals with a time of 23.30s in the 200m event.  At Nationals, he achieved personal records when it counted the most.
In 2008, we decided to let Brandon train with JumpStart the entire track season and boy, did it pay off! Brandon won every race he competed in, which included setting SC USATF records in the 100m and 200m events.  He achieved National Championship status in the 100m and 200m events at the USA Youth Outdoor National Championships at UNC-Charlotte.  He competed in the USATF Regionals finishing 1st in the 100m and 200m events, setting a Youth Boys 100m National Record of 10.91s.  he closed out the season with two more championships at the USATF Junior Olympics in the 100m and 100m in Omaha, Nebraska.
We highly recommend JumpStart to any parent who wants the best for their children."

Parents of Byron Mingo

"Ebony's little brother Byron (ranked 7th  in the state J.V. 125lbs) in his 07-08 wrestling season decided he wanted to starting training with his sister.  Byron started training in full force with Coach Isaac in May 2008 for the 400m event.  Since then, his time has dropped from 51.42s to 49.26s. Byron ran summer track for the first time in the summer of 2008 with Palmetto Speed (USATF) age group 15-16, while still training with Coach Isaac.  He placed 1st in the USATF state, 3rd in the Regionals, and 8th at the Nationals in Omaha, Nebraska where he was the youngest of the 400m finalists!! He will be the only returning finalist in that age group next year.  Our son has decided to give up wrestling to train year round with JumpStart.

Coach Isaac is a great coach, mentor and person. We love what he has done to bring out the best in our children.  Thank you, Coach Isaac!!!"

Parents of Bradley and Douglas Gibson

"Our two sons, 13 and 14 yrs of age, have been affiliated with JumpStart since its inception in 2005. We have been affiliated with Coach Maurice Campbell since 2001.  My husband and I are impressed with how far our boys have progressed in track and field and their overall well being.  They are both great young men who are doing well in high and junior high, each achieving 4 A's and 1 B in Oct. 2007.  In JumpStart, they have competed in the triple jump, long jump, 400m and 800m events. They qualified for and competed in Regional and National events (AAU Junior Olympic Regional and Nationals 2007) and both have medaled.  It is well known that athletics and it's structure provide for young men and women, and JumpStart does those things for our sons.  But that is not what keeps us coming back.  Its how Coach Isaac and Coach Maurice interact with the athletes overall and the training the coaches provide.  JumpStart has high standards.  Its members are required to maintain good grades, be respectful of others, and strive to do their best in all endeavors.  My husband was deployed overseas for fourteen months and I was concerned about my sons not having a positive role model.  But the coaches were wonderful and responsive to my sons needs, kept them on schedule and being there in the absence of their father.  I highly recommend JumpStart to any parent whom wishes to provide their children with superior training by superior coaches."

Parents of Shalyn McMichael

"We started working with Coach Isaac after the AAU summer season of 2006. At that time, Shalyn had a few problems with her mechanics, but no one ever told her that before until JumpStart. Because she was winning or placing at the top of all her races, she naturally thought she was doing all the right things.  When Coach Isaac helped her to correct those problems with her mechanics and understand the changes needed, she became almost a different athlete.  The results were a two time SC State Champion for High School Track and Field!!! What more needs to be said?  Coach Isaac helped us to earn those bragging rights!!!!"

"The first time we visited JumpStart, it took 20 minutes to realize that our son was in the right place and at the right time. The evidence: 2006 Youth Games, Long Jump Championship 2007; Sumter Relays Most Valuable Athlete; All in 9 months.  we highly recommend it!!!"

Parents of Torric Davis

"Coach Maurice came into our life in 1997 as coach of the Classics track club.  He was Torric's first coach.  So I can't give Coach Isaac ALLL of the credit!! (Smiles).  Meeting Coach Isaac and other JumpStart family members continues to have a positive impact on my family.  These men are not only coaches, but mentors and friends to my sons.  Their roles extend far beyond the track!  The 2005 high school season was a turning point in Torric's life on the track. More importantly, the 4A State Meet. Coach Isaac was called in a few weeks before the meet.  Torric always says, "The 'Big Guns' were called in." We all know that this was the deciding factor in him taking home two gold medals in 100m and 200m events for Spring Valley High School! After that, offers came in to fly out to meets in Albuquerque, NM and Sacramento, CA.  I refused to fly and I knew that a frightened parent was not what he needed at the time.  Coach Isaac and Coach Brooks of Dreher High made the trip with him.  Torric has friendships with children out of gangs. Things have not always gone smoothly off the track but I do count my blessings.  Traveling to meets as far as Michigan, Ohio and New Orleans has introduced him to people and places that so many of his peers may never see.  The children are busy every summer and loving it! My husband and I look forward to great things with JumpStart for both our sons.  Sterling is now giving a great effort!  We greatly appreciate the influence that these men have in our life."

"Track and Field is not only a competition, it helps one's self-esteem, discipline, patience, and humility.  Training with Coach Bennie Isaac, I've seen positive changes in Jorde's performance on and off the track.  During her freshman year, she accomplished competing in the SC State Championships. She competed in the 400m and 800m events with TJ.  Coach Isaac keeps the parents informed on areas needed for improvement which consisted of great eating choices and proper work ethics prior to track meets.  He shows interest in Jorde's academics as well as track and field."

Parents of Christal Green

"What a difference a year makes!!  I've always been a parent that supported my daughter, Christal, regardless of what she wanted to do. When she approached me with the idea of running track, I didn't hesitate to do what any parent would do and that was to run out and purchase her the necessary equipment to support her next adventure.  In doing so, I thought about the Volleyball shoes that weren't being used.  I thought about the orchestra instruments that I had invested in that was gathering dust and countless other 'Christal adventures' that just somehow didn't mesh well with her.
One day I was approached by Coach Isaac while picking up my daughter from one of her practices.  He told me he saw something very special in my daughter and that I should look into his program, JumpStart.  Honestly, I thought he was a bit nutty at first, because my husband, Roger and I, had witnessed Christal run during the school year and we didn't see anything special in those feet of hers.
She trained with JumpStart over the summer. JumpStart enrolled her in a few summer track meets. She didn't do particularly well that summer. Despite her event times and rankings, she was still extremely excited about her progress.
Christal trained with Coach Isaac and other JumpStart elite runners during the off season months until the start of the high school track season.  I'll admit, I didn't attend the first few track meets. Christal would come home and I'd ask her how did she do.  Her response would be, "I won all my events."  After hearing that a few times, I decided to attend the next one. Well...THE REST IS HISTORY!!!!!!!
A year later, here I stand writing the testimony of a life time.  If Roger and I weren't there to witness it, we wouldn't have believed the progress that one child can make from one track season to the next. Christal placed 2nd in the 100m and 400m events at the State Championships this year (2010). Summer track was no different, Christal soared over her competition in the AAU State Championships all the way to being a finalist in the 200m and 400m events.  USATF was no different. As a result, the College offers are still pouring in.  JumpStart saw the specialness in my daughter and cultivated her talent into what it is today.
Coach Isaac is truly a blessing from God.  He gave and continues to give tirelessly to what he truly believes
in.  Thank you, Coach Isaac and Coach Brooks for all that you do.  I am forever a fan of Track and Field and especially a FAN and  life long advocate of JumpStart."

Parents of Briana Nelson

Going into the summer after Briana Nelson’s  sophomore year in high school she had excelled in the 100,200, and 400 meters. During this time her summer track coach realized that he had taken Briana to the highest level of his training ability. He new that she had much more potential, but he also new that she was beyond his training expertise.

We were familiar with several individuals that were providing training to track and field athletes, but none came as highly recommended as Coach Bennie Isaac and the “JumpStart” program. That summer we began training with Coach Isaac; hence Briana’s performance immediately took off to the next level.

Coach Isaac began focusing on the areas of Briana’s training and performance that had previously been ignored. He began to focus on the little things that we had never considered or thought significant. Her training routine was vigorous and tough, but because of the demands and the level of commitment expected by Coach Isaac it has all paid off.  Briana’s Track career has excelled to the level that she has always hoped for. She has received countless achievements over the last several years and has now received a full scholarship to the “University of Texas”. We attribute much of that success to the “JumpStart” program.

We would without hesitation recommend Coach Isaac and the “JumpStart” program to anyone wanting to see their child go to another level in track and field.
