Building Better, Stronger, Faster Athletes... One Day At A Time!
Coach Isaac attended the main session with the coaches of the top finishers in the 2007 AT&T USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He heard Dr. Mann's presentations on the mechanics of sprinting and/or hurdling, along with the highly inquisitive, and sometimes combative, questions and discussions of the HPD coaches. In addition, there were presentations by speakers in the fields of sports medicine, motor learning, and sports psychology; all directly related to sprint and/or hurdle performance.
On the application side, elite coaches Clyde Hart, Amy Deem, Dennis Shaver, Rahn Sheffield, Curtis Frye, and John Smith gave presentations on various aspects of the development of sprint and/or hurdle athletes. The highlight of this effort was a live, on-track demonstration of how to best teach and improve an athlete's sprint and/or hurdle performance. This session included Dr. Mann's computer video graphics based teaching system, as well as presentations from some of the HPD coaches (Clyde Hart, Curtis Frye, and John Smith).
This was an incredible opportunity that the staff of JumpStart knows is a great investment for YOUR student/athlete!
Coach Bennie Isaac has been involved in athletic training in the various sports disciplines such as football, wresting, volleyball, soccer, track & field, personal fitness, and speed and agility for over 20 years. He began his coaching career at Dreher High School in 1995 where he served as an assistant coach for 11 years. He works primarily with sprinters, hurdlers and short and middle distance runners. During his tenure he received the 2006 SC High School League Assistant Coach of the Year!
Because of his determination and belief that year round training would produce higher quality athletes, he adds to his credits numerous High School State and Regional Champions, High School All-Americans in both 3A and 4A classifications, as well as National and Jr. Olympic Qualifiers. He has coached a High School Athlete of the Year in 2003, 2004, 2005 & 2006. Many of these athletes have gone on to further their academic careers on full athletic scholarships at some of the top 10 Colleges and Universities in the nation. He is a Speed Consultant for some of SC's top professional agents and a Speed Consultant to professional athletes in preparation for College Day, Pro Day and the NFL Draft.
Coach Isaac's coaching style is unique in that he believes it is important to strengthen the mind as well as the body. He believes in setting goals in every aspect of life in order to know where you're going. You must also have a plan to get there. He requires all athletes to set an athletic and academic goal before training can begin; as he believes they both go hand in hand. Knowing an athlete has accomplished their goals and feel good about what they have achieved is what truly gives Coach Isaac the greatest joy!
